Anthony Cardoza Recent Trial Victories

|

Partner Anthony Cardoza of our firm has two trial wins to begin the 2018 year for Peters, Habib, McKenna, Juhl-Rhodes & Cardoza, LLP. Cardoza has over 20 years of trial and criminal defense experience. Since joining the firm in 2018, he has focused his work on trial litigation, criminal defense, personal injury, and overall civil litigation.

In Tehama County, Cardoza led a two-day jury trial in early February 2018. The defendant was facing a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon, namely a vehicle. Under Penal Code section 245(a)(1), her charges would have resulted in up to four years in state prison and lifetime loss of her driver’s license. Our client would have also lost her occupational license, which was required for her decades-long career. With Cardoza’s trial expertise, the client was cleared of her felony charge and instead was found guilty on a much lesser offense of misdemeanor assault, under Penal Code section 240. She received probation.

Cardoza’s second trial victory occurred in Butte County during a three-day jury trial in late February. Our client faced the charge of a misdemeanor count of spousal battery under Penal Code section 243(e)(1). He was threatened with one year of jail time, and he would have lost his longtime career because of an inability to own firearms if convicted. The defendant’s verdict was an acquittal of all charges.

On behalf of our firm, we would like to congratulate Anthony Cardoza on these two successful trial wins. Contact Mr. Cardoza if you would like him to represent you in any legal matters.
